Dark Matter No.1: Ghost Hunting Your Dead Relatives?

DM is me answering the weird, hard, awkward questions about myself and the paranormal, along with other spooky shit I might be asked or happen to think of. (When I'm not thinking of pizza or dogs in costumes).

No.1: Would You Ghost Hunt Your Own Dead Relatives? I thought about this numerous times going into the paranormal, and when I started I was in my early 20's, in college and living in Oneonta, New York. At that time my only dead relatives were great-grandparents I'd met and lost as an elementary school-aged kid, and to boot, they were the step-parents of my grandma, they weren't all a close family who'd grown up together, and we weren't close either. The concept of contacting my own relatives has honestly never been something I'd want to do. I didn't join a paranormal team to do so, and I never consciously reached out to them when I was investigating. I still haven't, and don't want that interaction. Fast forward to 2014 and 2016 when my grandmother and grandfather passed away. I still, even now, do not want a new or fresh memory of an interaction with them that is outside of the ones I had with them in life. Those aren't the memories of those people I want, and on some further, metaphysical level, I imagine they must know that, and keep watch from well enough away. Or, they don't watch at all. I'm okay with either.

As far as what other people might want to do - do you! I could not care one iota if someone wants to reach out to their deceased family or loved ones. Many people do that within and without the paranormal community. I take no issue with anyone else's approach, I just live by "do no harm", and "have too much anxiety to do much at all". It's fine. I'm fine. Enjoy!

Thank you for watching//reading,
